Watching The Heavens Can Be A Religious Experience

WALLACE – (Sat. 8/6/11) A group of some 50 non-denominational Christians met this evening to watch the stars at the Better Floor Systems Event Center. Dr. Gary Shoemaker, who is a professor of astronomy at Sacramento State, led the group.

Stargazers waiting for the night to fall.

According to Gary Andersen, who was among those participating in tonight’s activity, stargazing is a religious experience showing God’s creation. The group intends on watching the stars through two Meade 10″ Cassegrain telescopes until 3 a.m. tomorrow.
