$34,000 Fire Erupts In Valley Springs
VALLEY SPRINGS – (Mon. 8/8/11) Yesterday at about 6:05 p.m. a fire of unknown origin destroyed a 1976 Winnebago, a 1992 Chevrolet Suburban, a small boat and caused damage to a Razo flat bottom ski boat located at the home of Michael George, 265 Cedar St.
“I was unaware of the fire until the Pastor of the local church knocked on my door,” George said. George placed the value of the loss of his vehicles and boats at $34,000.
According to Mike Vitro, captain of the Foothill Fire Department, four fire engines were called to the scene, two from Foothill and two from CalFire. “The fire was under control within 10 minutes,” Vitro said. “The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.”
